The Honorable Rebels

The rebel is the word we’re not unfamiliar with. If one person or group oppose the government of their own, they are called rebels whether they are right or wrong. Throughout our childhood, we used to think the people those military government announced as rebels are rebels because we could see or hear only propagated news of military government. We even thought the rebels as the bad guys. Since the military’s propaganda made the rebels seems like evils, our thoughts were filled with bad images.

The rebels are the ones who fight against injustice. It is the word that powerholders use unfairly to the people who claim their own perceptions and rights definitely. It’s found out that the person every government that oppress the people named as rebels are always the good person. It’s just a word they easily use for the people who disagree with them like Sayar San Rebel, Student Rebel, ethnic rebel.

We find that dictator’s followers also called us, the Spring Revolutionary who revolt against the military dictator the rebels. We don’t care anymore. We feel happiness when they called us rebels. It shows we are standing with the truth. Right, we are the rebels. The rebels who can’t bow down their heads to injustice. Rebel Rebel revolt… revolt, screaming in loud voice.

“Never be a rebel under a good ruler.
Be proud as a rebel in bad emperor’s time.”
